Although NanRobot has produced some top-performing e-scooters previously, there is no doubt that the D6+ is in a league of its own. This scooter comes with a massive 50V 26AH battery that powers the two independent 1000W brushless motors. With such power, this machine can reach a maximum speed of 40 mph (64 km/h) and go up to 45 miles (72 km) on a single charge. It also comes with Eco and Turbo modes and buttons to activate or deactivate the second motor for better regulation of power and speed. Its all-wheel drive means that skidding or getting stuck on muddy roads will be the least of your worries.
In addition to its power features, the D6+ also comes with well-thought-out safety features. First, it boasts a sturdy frame built from low-density aluminium alloy and a long and large deck for enhanced stability and comfort. With two interdependent motors that produce 2000W, this electric scooter can hit a top speed of 40 mph 64 km/h). While such speed is enough to make a statement, we recommend that you exercise moderation especially while riding through busy city streets.
Accelerating feels super smooth and steady while cruising on the Nanrobot D6+. The machine comes with two riding modes that allow you to choose how you want to attack the pavement. With the Eco mode, you will enjoy decent speeds and save battery power; on the other hand, the Turbo mode activates both motors thereby allowing for insane speed.
Hill Climbing
The D6+’s hill-climbing ability is why this machine is dubbed an “off-road beast”. The scooter’s 2 x 1000W motor allows it to tackle hills with a maximum inclination of 30 degrees, while maintaining a decent speed. Of course, this will depend on a few things such as the rider’s weight, the battery level and direction of wind among other aspects.

The Nanrobot D6+ comes with a 50V 26AH lithium-ion battery that delivers a maximum range of 45 miles (72 km) on a single charge. The battery takes 10 hours to charge with a single lithium battery charger but you can lower the charging time to about five hours if you use two chargers simultaneously. However, there are claims that this scooter’s battery life leaves a lot to be desired especially when it comes to longevity.
Motor Configuration
The Nanrobot D6+ electric scooter is equipped with two hub motors on each wheel. The duo yields a joint total of 2,000 watts worth of power output. This means that the D6+ sits at the upper echelon alongside the Zero 10x and Dualtron X. While the Nanrobot official website doesn’t specify whether the wattage is nominal or peak, no one can question the incredible power of this mini-vehicle.
Construction & Build Quality
Apart from its power, speed and comfort, the next best thing about this scooter is its solid construction. Given that it’s designed for off-road riding, its entire frame is made from low-density aluminium alloy and it weighs about 77 pounds (34 kg). In addition, the deck is padded with a rough, rubbery material for increased traction, while the handlebars are covered with the same material to reduce friction and make them easy to latch onto. D6+ can carry up to 330 pounds (149 kg or about two mid-sized adults).

The high-performance machine comes with electronic and hydraulic brakes that deliver near-instant halts. However, while the brakes are powerful and dependable, riders should reduce the scooter’s speed before they stop. Trying to bring this e-scooter to an abrupt halt may affect your balance—or even lead to an awkward fall.
Portability
The Nanrobot D6+ electric scooter is not a machine that riders can carry for long distances; this scooter weighs a whopping 77 pounds (34 kg)! The good news though is that it easily folds and latches. A Two-Snap-On folding mechanism allows the stem to collapse and connect with the scooter’s body, thereby creating a solid structure that can be carried in the boot of a medium-sized vehicle.
Water Resistance
The D6+ is rated IP55 for water resistance. This means that most of the scooter’s components won’t be affected by water while you ride in the rain or after it has stopped raining. Even then, it doesn’t mean you should test your mini-vehicle by cascading through every puddle or get entirely submerged in water. There are still some electrical components that require minimal exposure to water, so be cautious with those.

The left handlebar also houses other controls, such as the key lock, horn button, signal-light buttons and on/off headlight button.
The accelerator sits to the right, alongside the clear LCD display. This latter shows the power level, ride time, battery level speed, and more. In addition, it boasts two switches that allow riders to switch between modes.

Nanrobot also boasts responsive and reliable customer support. Considering that most of the improvements to the D6+ are what customers complained about in the original Nanrobot D6 model, they clearly listen and respond to their customer’s queries.
Maintenance
To ensure that this device performs optimally, riders should tighten the screws, watch for any broken or torn parts and check the tyre pressure regularly. Also, change the battery as soon as it starts showing signs of aging, adjust the brakes and dust off the entire scooter after each use.

Known Issues
At the time of writing this review, D6+ is still relatively new on the market, which means only a few people have had the privilege of using it for some time. However, from our research and experience riding it, we feel that there are a few issues that we feel should be addressed. First, its battery life is underwhelming compared to competitors in its category. Additionally, the brakes are a little tight and can make riders stumble if they don’t adjust them before use.

The Nanrobot D6+ ranks among the most impressive electric mini-vehicles we’ve seen on the market to date.
